JICA to lend JPY 50bn to India Infrastructure Finance Company

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a JPY 50bn (USD 438.9m) loan agreement with India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) on 11 March.

The 20-year JICA loan does not cover specific sectors but because of environmental and other safeguards, the long-term funds are likely to go to developers of renewable energy and power transmission projects IIFCL’s deputy managing director, Sanjeev Kaushik, told InfraAsia.
